At BT we understand that a strong foundation in mental health is key to academic success, personal growth, and lifelong resilience. This understanding drives our commitment to prioritizing the mental well-being and social-emotional health of our students, faculty, and staff. To this end, we have a comprehensive support system in place, designed to meet the diverse needs of our community members:
Dedicated Counseling Team
We have a counselor for each division who meets weekly with students to teach our social emotional curriculum RULER and provide support to our students:
- Lower School - Katie Tessin
- Middle School - Katie Brubaker
- Upper School - Brianna Vander Vorst
On-Campus Professional Counseling
BT partners with Arbor Family Counseling to offer free on-campus counseling sessions. Our on-campus therapists are:
- Jeff Krenzer, LIMHP, NCC
- Libby Collins, intern therapist
- David O'Neil, intern therapist
Middle and Upper School students are encouraged to schedule their own appointments on the calendly at a time that works with their study hall or free periods; however, Middle School counselor Katie Brubaker and Upper School counselor Brianna Vander Vorst also welcome the opportunity to assist students in setting up their appointments with Arbor Family therapists.
Lower School parents/guardians can contact Katie Tessin to arrange appointments. If you wish to opt out of these services for your child, please complete the form on this webpage.
Extended Support
In addition to these on-campus services, BT families have access to five free sessions at Arbor Family Counseling’s offices. To schedule appointments, call Arbor Family at 402.330.0960 and identify yourself as a BT student or family member.
We strongly encourage all members of our community to take advantage of these resources. Your mental health is our priority, and we're here to support you every step of the way.
