Taking Ownership of Your Future
BT will challenge you - but you will be supported every step of the way. BT’s hands-on, one-on-one academic experience plays a significant role in helping every student find success, providing a distinct and enduring advantage in college and within the competitive global economic environment.
The House System is designed to encourage closer relationships between the students of the House and the House Dean (faculty advisor), as well as increase school spirit across campus. Each House has a leader selected from the senior class. Houses earn points throughout the year through participation, contests, service, and the House Olympics. The House Cup is awarded to the House that earns the most points at the end of the year.
Malone Schools Online Network
MSON provides upper level students at registered Malone Schools with a variety of superior online courses that enhance each member school’s existing curriculum. These courses are conducted by teaching professionals who are experts in their fields, have experience with independent school education, and share a commitment to excellence, small class sizes, and personal relationships. Course offerings target the most talented high school students who demonstrate sufficient independence and commitment to succeed in a virtual discussion seminar setting.
Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment
For students who wish to obtain advanced standing in college through the College Board, 16 Advanced Placement courses are offered: English (2), world languages (3), fine arts (4), history (2), mathematics (3), and science (3). Students enrolled in AP courses are required to take the corresponding AP exams, which makes it all the more impressive that 82% of our students who take AP classes score 3+ (indicating they are qualified to pass a college-level class in the subject).
Brownell Talbot is a Platinum member of the AP School Honor Roll.
Upper School students enrolled in approved courses may earn college credit through dual enrollment programs with the University of Nebraska at Omaha or Nebraska Wesleyan University.
Upon graduation, Brownell Talbot students acquire up to 100+ hours of college counseling. Although outcomes are important, BT’s College Counseling Department knows that each student’s success in college depends on their ability to look beyond college ranking lists and embark on a highly individualized process of self discovery, paired with an exploration of thefull landscape of colleges.
BT’s approach lays the foundation for students to build a plan focused on college fit. Students apply to colleges that meet their individual needs so that they are confident in their decision - one that will shape their next four years of college and beyond.
