Libraries

Offering Quiet Spaces to Read, Learn, and Grow.

Upper and Middle School

The Brownell Talbot James Upper and Middle School Library is designed to provide resources our students need in an atmosphere that supports quiet study and research and encourages reading.

The library features an automated collection of over 11,000 books, magazines, and other print and electronic resources, as well as audiovisual materials.

Access the James Library's online search tool.

Readers and researchers are welcome between the hours of 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Students must obtain passes from instructors to visit the library during scheduled class or study hall times. Upper School students may use the library during free periods without an instructor pass. From time to time, the James Library will be closed for testing or special meetings. Fines for materials that are late, damaged, or not returned to the school may be assessed.

Lower School library

For our Lower School students, the Laura Jeannette James Library provides a charming, engaging learning environment, and offers students and instructors in preschool through fourth grade access to more than 6,000 titles. Instructors bring their classes to visit the library weekly, offering students the chance to check out books, learn in a different setting and listen to stories. Computers are available for research and to access library resources.
