Brownell Talbot is committed to helping students understand their moral compass and foster a passion for creating positive change as well as creating an inclusive environment for all members of the BT community. In support of BT’s strategic plan initiative of creating a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, the school is implementing a community-wide Assessment of Inclusivity and Multiculturalism. The assessment is created and conducted by the National Association of Independent Schools and consists of two components: focus groups and an anonymous online survey. It is designed to elicit feedback on the school’s climate and culture and provide data to help BT establish measurable goals.

Trustees, faculty and staff, parents and guardians, and alumni have been emailed the survey link, which must be completed by October 7, 2020. Students in grades 7-12 will complete the survey during House and Advisory.

Dr. Gibbs will share the results of the survey later this semester. All members of the BT community are encouraged to participate in the anonymous survey so that a diverse set of experiences and perspectives inform how the school moves forward in ensuring it is inclusive and welcoming to all.
