Community Service
Upper School
All Upper School students are expected to be involved in service to the community. The expectation of the School is that students will volunteer 10 hours per school year in service to the community. Community service can be completed during the entire year including the summer months with proper verification. Service learning is a vital component of a complete Brownell-Talbot education and students will have many opportunities to complete their service commitment.
Middle School
All Middle School students participate in the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive sponsored by the School's National Honor Society. Often, the Middle School Student Council will elect to participate in another community service event as a group.
Lower School
Lower School students participate in community service through their classrooms. Each classroom collects canned and dried foods to donate to the Thanksgiving Food Drive. Several classrooms have ongoig projects: for example, the fourth grade collects pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House each year, and the first grade collects items for Operation Christmas Child.
