Director's Message
Brownell-Talbot's educational environment must be built each day through the careful labor of teachers, students, staff, and families, all joined in a common purpose.
It must be paid for each year through tuition, contributions, and other sources of income.
Independent education thrives because of the generosity of parents and past parents, trustees, faculty and staff, students, alumni, and friends. At Brownell-Talbot, we are proud of the involved, philanthropic spirit of our community, and we are deeply grateful to everyone whose support has made the school's vision a reality for 149 years.
Brownell-Talbot, like most independent private schools, cannot generally rely on the revenues generated by tuition to fund the annual operating budget. During 2012-2013, the Development Office is responsible for coordinating fundraising activities to raise $792,700.
Contributions from the Annual Sustaining Campaign, two major school-wide fundraisers (the Gala and Magazine Drive), and to a lesser extent, income from miscellaneous gifts, memorial, and earned interest help achieve this fundraising goal.
I invite you to take a moment to explore the ways you can express your financial support to Brownell-Talbot.
Linda A. Zimmerman
