Visual Arts

"Art is a piece of the heart and soul that come together to form something beautiful." From this quote by Gabrielle Murphy we recognize the importance of creativity.
Visual art teachers at Brownell-Talbot create a unique curriculum that enables each student to realize their artistic potential. Throughout the years, each student is able to create using drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and ceramics. Starting in Pre-Kindergarten, students are introduced to visual art through visits to their classroom by local artists within the community. Students in Lower School and Middle School enjoy a disciplined based approach to art, incorporating art history and aesthetics into the creative process. Brownell-Talbot offers Introduction to Art, Beginning Painting, Advanced Painting, Sculpture, Pottery, and Portfolio for the Upper School elective in visual art. Most classes meet twice per week in fully equipped art studios.
