ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE
Sixteen members the Class of 2012 were recognized as "Academic All-Conference" by the Frontier Conference.

Students receiving the all conference medal follow.

Chris Ames, Grace Bartels, Sammi Bray, Dale Chong, Alex Coakley, Josh Cohen, Zach Ehresman, Britt Fossum, Jay Li, Haley Mathews, Max Suiter, Alex Tran, Jonny Trinh, Sophie Wang, Taylor White-Welchen, and Ruben Zendejas.  

DISTRICT TRACK RESULTS
The following individuals qualified to compete in the State Track meet during the District meet last week:

Senior Taylor White-Welchen qualified for the 100- and 200- meter dash.

Junior Aisha Yapp qualified for the triple jump.

The boys' 400-meter relay team qualified as well. Members include sophomore Arlie Myers and freshman Jordan Proby, Jon Vrana, and Jordan Kerrey.  

The girls' team placed sixth with 57 team points at the District meet.

White-Welchen — placed first in the 100 (12.6), first in the 200 (26.7), and fourth in the 300 hurdles (53.8).  

Senior Haley Mathews — placed third in the shot put (34'4"), sixth in the 400 meters (1:07), and fifth in the 300 hurdles (54.3).

Senior Jen Coccia — placed sixth in the 100 meter hurdles (18.0). 

Yapp — placed second in the triple jump (32'6").  

Sophomore Mercedes Kent — placed third in the 100 meter hurdles (16.8).  

Freshman Kenzi Larkin — placed fifth in the high jump (4'8").  

Girls' 400 meter relay — placed third with a time of 53.8. Members included Mathews, Kent, Yapp, and White-Welchen.

Girls' 1600 meter relay — sixth place with a time of 4:56.  Members included senior Nicole Vazquez-Chanlatte, Larkin, and freshmen Megan Harrell and Diamonde O'Connor.  

The boys' team scored 31.33 team points.  

Junior Andrew Chen — fifth in the 300 meter hurdles (47.3).

Myers — placed third in the long jump (20'1") and fifth in the 100 (11.7).

Freshman Dylan Burkley — tied for sixth place in the high jump (5'4") and fifth in triple jump (36'10").

Kerrey — sixth place in the 100 (11.8).

Proby — sixth place in the 200 (24.3) and sixth place in the 400 (55.0).  

Boys' 400 meter relay — first place with a time of 47.0.

Boys' 3200 meter relay — third place with a time of 9:32. Members included senior Zach Ehresman, Proby, junior Max Buls, and senior Ruben Zendejas.  

The State Track meet is scheduled Friday-Saturday, May 18-19, at Omaha Burke High School.  

GIRLS' TENNIS TEAM GOES 1-2 LAST WEEK
The varsity girls' tennis team defeated Omaha North last Monday 9-0, winning every event.

No. 1 doubles — senior Sammi Bray/freshman Sadie Rich (8-2).

No. 2 doubles — senior Talia Simon/junior Alison Brockman (8-0).

No. 3 doubles — seniors Dale Chong/Britt Fossum (8-3).

No. 1 singles — senior Sammi Bray (8-3).

No. 2 singles — Sadie Rich (8-1).

No. 3 singles — Dale Chong (8-2).

No. 4 singles — Britt Fossum (8-4).

No. 5 singles — Talia Simon (8-6).

No. 6 singles — Leslie Atkinson (8-2).

The girls lost to Gretna 6-3 last Tuesday. Winning their matches were:

No. 1 singles — Bray (8-2).

No. 5 singles — Simon (8-6).

No. 6 singles — Sophomore Leslie Atkinson (8-6).  

The girls team ended the week with a loss to Ralston 5-4 last Thursday. Winning their matches were:

No. 1 doubles — Bray/Rich (8-4).

No. 3 doubles — Chong/Fossum (8-3).

No. 1 singles — Bray (8-2).

No. 2 singles — Rich (8-3).

The State Tennis Championships are scheduled Thursday and Friday in Lincoln. Tourney brackets will be released later this week by the NSAA.  

JV TENNIS TEAM DEFEATS NORTH
The JV team defeated Omaha North last Monday.  

Sophomore Christina Fossum (6-3) and freshman Tenley Propst (6-3) won their singles and teamed up for a doubles (6-1) win. 

Sophomores Michaela Higgins and Sarah Harrison won their doubles match (6-2). Sophomore Emily Bergquist (6-4), junior Linda Liu (6-2), and freshman Lauren Zimmerman (6-4) also notched singles wins. That's two dual wins in a row for the B-T JV.

BOYS' GOLF UPDATE
The boys' golf team placed 12th at the Waverly Invite last Tuesday. Individual scores were: Sophomore Tyler Ehresman — 85; sophomore David Rich — 90; sophomore David Bakos — 94; senior Saif Shah — 95, and junior Dustin Waggoner — 99.

B-T also participated in the Roncalli/Ralston triangular last week, shooting a team score of 188. Individual scores were:  Ehresman — 44; Waggoner — 45; Rich — 48; and senior Jonny Trinh — 51.  

Districts are set for tomorrow, Tuesday, May 15, at Valley.
