GIRLS' TENNIS UPDATE
The girls' tennis team played in the Waverly/Norris triangular last week Lincoln. Senior Sammi Bray and freshman Sadie Rich won No. 1 doubles against Waverly (8-3) and Norris (8-3). Senior Talia Simon and junior Alison Brockman at No. 2 Doubles beat Waverly's No. 2 team 8-1. Senior Britt Fossum won No. 2 singles against Waverly's No. 2 8-6.
The team hosted Elkhorn South in a dual at OCC. Elkhorn South beat B-T in all nine matches.
B-T also hosted Blair at OCC. B-T beat Blair 5-4 to win the dual. No. 1 doubles (Bray and Rich) 8-3, No. 2 doubles (senior Dale Chong and Fossum) 8-6, No. 1 singles (Bray) 8-2, No. 2 singles (Rich) 8-4, and No. 3 singles (Fossum) 8-3, all won their matches for BT.
BOYS' GOLF SEASON BEGINS
The B-T boys' golf team defeated Roncalli in a dual last week. B-T won 172-180. Sophomore Tyler Ehresman shot a 38. Other scores included senior Saif Shah 41, junior Dustin Waggoner 45, sophomore David Rich 48, sophomore David Bakos 51, and junior Evan Bloemer 67.
BT placed seventh among 20 teams at the Bellevue East Invite at Tregaron Golf Course. Scores included Ehresman 83, Shah 84, Rich 97, and Bakos 97.
JCC TRACK RESULTS
The B-T track team competed in the JCC Invitational at Tecumseh last Tuesday. The girls' team placed fifth.
Girls medalists
Senior Taylor White-Welchen – first in the 100 meter dash (12.8), first in the 200 meter dash (27.0), and second in the 400 meter dash (1:03.9)
Senior Jennifer Coccia – placed fifth in the 100 meter hurdles (17.6)
Senior Haley Mathews – placed fourth in the shot put (34'9)
Junior Aisha Yapp – placed second in the triple jump (31'5)
Girls' 400 meter relay – second with a time of 55.0. Members included Coccia, junior Cami Oyler, Yapp, and White-Welchen.
Boys medalists
Sophomore Arlie Myers – placed second in the boys long jump (20'1).
Boys' 400 meter relay – placed fifth with a time of 47.4. Members included Myers, freshmen Jordan Proby and Jordan Kerrey, and sophomore Tripp Skutt.
Boys 1600 meter relay – placed sixth with a time of 3:58. Members included seniors Zach Ehresman and Ruben Zendejas, freshman Drew Ketterson, and Proby.
Boys 3200 meter relay – placed sixth with a time 9:35. Members included junior Max Buls, Ehresman, senior Josh Cohen, and Zendejas.
SOCCER TEAM RESULTS
The Brownell-Talbot/Concordia/DC West girls' soccer team played Omaha Mercy last week losing 5-0. The team's record is 4-4.
The Roncalli/Concordia/Brownell-Talbot boys' soccer team lost two games last week to Gross 2-1 and top-ranked South Sioux City. The boys compete next at Beatrice Thursday. April 12.
