21st Century Education Lecture Series

Brownell-Talbot School is a leader in implementing visionary education practices that have allowed for generations of students over nearly 150 years to achieve education, career and life success. Although we are a private, independent school, we also serve a public purpose — that of developing an educated citizenry prepared to lead in facing the increasing challenges of the 21st Century.

For this reason, we have created the 21st Century Education Lecture series and EducationMattersBlog.com.

The 21st Century Education Lecture series features educational thought-leaders and provides area educators and parents the opportunity to understand better the state of education in our nation and across the world today.

The EducationMattersBlog.com features commentary about educational topics by Head of School Dr. Sylvia Rodíguez Vargas. The blog invites readers to join in the conversation and share their creativity in offering suggestions for the challenges schools and educators face on a daily basis.

The March 2013 lecture will feature Dr. JoAnn Deak, author of "How Girls Thrive," "Your Fantastic Elastic Brain," and the soon-to-be-published "Your Fantastic Elastic Adolescent Brain." The lecture is scheduled at 7 p.m. on March 21 in Brownell-Talbot's Swanson Auditorium.
