Upper School Curriculum

While the Upper School program at Brownell-Talbot is rigorous, students are afforded choice within the program to take courses of particular interest.

Although Upper School students are required to meet certain minimum standard requirements, Brownell-Talbot graduates typically surpass these in several areas, thereby greatly enhancing their chances for acceptance and success at the college of their choice.

The "Aha" Moment

For Carrie Rise, the joy in teaching at Brownell-Talbot School comes from the “aha” moments.

“I love teaching here. When I started here more than 20 years ago, I wanted to teach students who were serious about learning. Those are our students. I really enjoy our kids enthusiasm and excitement,” she says. “When they comprehend something that they had difficulty understanding, the light in their eyes is visible. It’s such an obvious moment.”
