Engaging with the World Beyond Our Walls
In order to truly learn passionately, think critically, act responsibly, and lead with integrity, our students must be connected with their community on a service-oriented level. Brownell Talbot students are expected to engage in service opportunities at every age as a means of community involvement, caring service, and personal growth.
Lower School students participate in community service through their classrooms. Each classroom collects canned and dried foods to donate to the Food Drive sponsored by the School's National Honor Society as well as Operation Shoebox.
All Middle School students participate in the annual Food Drive. Often, the Middle School Student Council will elect to participate in another community service event as a group.
The expectation of all Upper School students is to volunteer 10 hours per school year in service to the community. Community service can be completed during the entire year including the summer months with proper verification.
