Costs: Extended Day Programs


Delights' Program (556-3772, Ext. 141)
Brownell-Talbot School offers an extended day program for families who need supervision in addition to the school day for their children. "Delights" is available for Brownell-Talbot students preschool through grade four during the hours of 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The program is staffed with experienced personnel and is designed to complement the regular school day. The children are offered a variety of recreational and enrichment activities. Children attending the Delights' program have access to the Lower School library, gym, assigned classrooms and playground area.

The following schedules are coordinated with the various dismissal times:

  • To cover basic supplies and materials for each student, there is a $100 membership and registration fee per school year, per child, payable at registration. For students utilizing the Just Before/After School portion, this is the only fee assessed. Students may use the service during the designated times for the entire year for this one-time rate. Any time past the 3:45 time will be charged the daily rate.

  • Children enrolled in the program are eligible to attend only on the days they are registered. Charges for use of this program are billed through the Business Office. Accounts must be kept current in order for your child to continue attending.

    Rates are assessed either daily or weekly. To receive the weekly rate, the child must be registered to attend Monday through Friday. Children enrolled weekly receive a discount for consistent usage. The daily rate is charged for any student who is pre-registered to attend less than a full week.

    The drop-in rate will be charged if students do not attend regularly. Drop-in service is contingent upon the availability of space for the day requested. Please notify the Delights' Director at least 24 hours in advance. The number of drop-ins may be limited and will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • The full rate will be charged even if students are present for only a portion of the time period. If students leave Delights to attend an activity and then return to Delights, they will be charged for the entire period.

  • The late policy will be enforced. Parents who choose the 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. and/or the 3:15 - 3:45 p.m. must pick up their child(ren) by 3:45 p.m. If not, the daily drop-in rate will apply. For those using the paid extended care option, Delights ends promptly at 6:00 p.m. All students must be picked up no later than 6:00 p.m. There will be a $1.00 charge per child for each additional minute after 6:00 p.m.

  • The preschool Delights students may bring a cold lunch or purchase a lunch through the school's food service. Any lunch purchased will be charged to the family's account.

  • The Delights program is available on most early dismissal days and on parent/teacher conference days to all students registered for the program. The Delights program will not be available on early dismissal days that precede a holiday. However, because of a limited number of spaces and staff planning, students must be registered and a place reserved for them several weeks in advance.

  • Brownell-Talbot School has a security system installed to provide a safe campus for all students. Delights parents are issued parent door access cards to allow you convenient access to the building for drop-off and pick-up for Delights. The doors and times assigned are limited to those needed for access to the Delights program. The main office door is open daily from 7:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. If you need to pick up your child during the school day, please enter through that door.
If your child participates in Morning Delights, the dining room door (old Brownell Hall entrance) and the playground door are open for your convenience beginning at 7:00 a.m. These are the only doors open at this time because they are monitored on a regular basis by the Delights staff and eliminate the need for key card access during this time. If you need to enter from the top lot, you may do so through the main office door after 7:30 a.m.

Any student participating in the complementary rate times (3:15-3:45 p.m.) may be picked up in the dining room by entering through the dining room door. This door is unlocked for that purpose until 4:00 p.m. Any family with a child remaining from 3:45 - 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday will need a Parent Security Access Card. Parent Security Access Cards are issued the first week of school and must be returned at the end of the school year. A fee of $15 will be assessed for any card not returned prior to the last day of school.

Each family is given two complementary cards. A family may request additional cards for caregivers and family members at a fee of $15 each. If your card is lost or stolen, please contact the Delights Director or the Head of School. It is important that any lost cards are deactivated to prevent improper use of the card. A new card can be issued for the replacement fee.
