Standardized Testing

Brownell-Talbot School each spring has students in first through tenth grade take the ERB (Educational Records Bureau) Standardized test.

Kindergarten students are assessed in the areas of reading and in math using the Stanford Early School Achievement Test.

The ERB testing program is a battery of assessments designed to provide instructionally useful information about student performance in key areas of school achievement: Listening, Reading, Vocabulary, Writing and Mathematics. The scores from the ERB are usually back before school is out and results are mailed home with an explanation sheet.

In addition, sophomores take the Plan© test, sophomores and juniors take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT). Both the ACT© and SAT© are taken in the spring of the junior and/or fall of the senior year. Advanced Placement tests are administered in the spring of the junior and senior years.
