The following list was developed to assist you with the college exploration/application process. This is not a comprehensive list of Web sites but it offers guidance and direction in certain areas pertinent to college exploration. Updated information will be posted throughout the school year.

Athletics

The primary site for information about playing sports at a NCAA Division I, II, or III college; includes information about student eligibility and recruiting and the Guide for the College Bound Student Athlete.

The official website of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Career Information
Occupational Outlook Handbook: http://www.bls.gov/oco/
The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a nationally recognized source of career information, designed to provide valuable assistance to individuals making decisions about their future work lives. Revised every two years, the Handbook describes what workers do on the job, working conditions, the training and education needed, earnings, and expected job prospects in a wide range of occupations.

O*Net Online: http://online.onetcenter.org/
An Occupational Information Network from the US Department of Labor. It contains extensive information on occupations.

College Search Process
College Search by CollegeBoard: http://apps.collegeboard.com/search/index.jsp
College Search offers two starting points. Use the College MatchMaker to find colleges that meet all of your needs or use the College QuickFinder to explore a school already familiar to you. Either way, you'll find the latest info on 3,600+ colleges, plus easy access to related tools.

Contains information about the college selection process; has a simple college search.

Financial Aid and Scholarships
Federal Parent PLUS Loan for Undergraduate Students: http://www.parentplusloan.com/
The Federal Parent PLUS Loan for Undergraduate Students enables parents and family members with good credit histories to pay the education expenses of each child who is a dependent undergraduate student enrolled at least half time in an approved college or university. These Loans are available through both the Direct Loan and FFEL programs. Most of the benefits to parent borrowers are identical in the two programs.

CSS/Financial Aid Profile: https://profileonline.collegeboard.com/index.jsp
A financial aid application service of the College Board that is required, in addition to the FAFSA, by some institutions. Many of the member colleges, universities, graduate and professional schools, and scholarship programs use the information collected on PROFILE to help them award nonfederal student aid funds.

The Mach25 database contains over 600,000 awards totaling over $1.6 billion. Keyword Search gives you a quick way to narrow down to a particular scholarship or group of scholarships.

Financial aid publication from the U.S. Department of Education.

Nellie Mae offers intelligent student loan programs to help families pay for college. They work in partnership with the world's brightest school administrators to make student loans accessible and they offer timely, informed guidance about borrowing wisely.

Information on the entire financial aid process; includes various calculators to assess need; good section to help parents and students with the financial aid process.

Offers guidance for college-bound students of all ages and parents. Includes a college selection search, financial aid, student loans, and college profiles. Also, visit the EducationQuest office in Rockbrook Village.

Search schools, careers, scholarships and aid. Offers information on improving scores on standardized tests.
