House System

The Brownell Talbot House System

The House System is designed to encourage closer relationships between the students of the House and the House Dean (faculty advisor), as well as increasing school spirit across the campus. Each House has a leader selected from the senior class. Houses are single gender and have a brother/sister partner House of the opposite gender. By having students of all four grades in each house, students develop connections outside their typical peer group, and juniors and seniors are afforded a wonderful opportunity to mentor younger students and develop their leadership abilities.

Houses engage in a several activities throughout the year, including intramural sports, karaoke contests, and volunteering as part of BT’s commitment to service learning and community engagement. The annual House Olympics is held in the spring.
