Girls Tennis Update

The girls tennis team played the following matches this month since the previous Raider Recap.

  • BT defeated Blair 9-0 on April 13.
    • #1 Doubles Aruna Bashir and Ameya Kutty won 8-3.
    • #2 Doubles Anna Kotula and Cecan Porter won 8-3.
    • #1 Singles Ameya Kutty won 8-0.
    • #2 Singles Jenna Mu won 8-1.
    • #3 Singles Rachel Hall won 8-3.
    • #4 Singles Aruna Bashir won 8-5.
    • #5 Singles Anna Kotula won 8-3.
    • #6 Cecan Porter won 8-4.
  • BT lost a close one to Skutt Catholic 5-4 on April 18.
    • #3 Doubles Aruna Bashir and Anna Kotula won 8-1.
    • #3 Singles Rachel Hall won 8-2.
    • #4 Singles Aruna Bashir won 8-4.
    • #6 Singles Cecan Porter won 8-2.
  • BT defeated Lincoln Christian 7-2 in a match played on April 20.
    • #1 Doubles Rachel Hall and Jenna Mu won their match 8-6.
    • #2 Doubles Cecan Porter and Bridget Backer (Concordia) won their match 8-4.
    • #2 Singles Jenna Mu won 8-1.
    • #3 Singles Rachel Hall won 8-6.
    • #4 Singles Aruna Bashir won 8-4.
    • #5 Singles Anna Kotula won 8-6.
    • #6 Singles Cecan Porter won 8-1.
  • BT also defeated Nebraska City 9-0 on April 25. Results were not available for the recap.

Louisville Track Invite Results

BT participated at the Louisville invite on April 20. Congrats to the following medalists.

  • Mylie Ketterson placed 6th in the 200-meter dash.
  • Eliza Rice placed 3rd in the 400-meter dash, 4th in the 800-meter dash, and 6th in the high jump.
  • Emma Garfoot placed 5th in the 1600-meter run.
  • Parker Gottsch placed 4th in the 300-meter hurdles.
  • Mandie Lisco placed 6th in the triple jump.
  • The girls 400-meter relay team placed 4th with a time of 55.23. Members included Parker Gottsch, Alice Silberling, Mandie Lisco, and Mylie Ketterson.
  • The girls 1600-meter relay team placed 6th with a time of 4:49. Members were Emalie Wightman, Parker Gottsch, Alice Silberling, and Emma Garfoot.
  • The girls 3200-meter relay team placed 3rd with a time of 11:08.24. Members were Emma Garfoot, Emalie Wightman, Sulagna Sensarma, and Eliza Rice.
  • John Vovk placed 6th in the 200-meter dash and 4th in the triple jump.
  • Peter Rice placed 6th in the 800-meter run.
  • Sam Bock placed 4th in the 300 hurdles.
  • Jarrett Proby placed 3rd in the high jump.
  • The boys 1600-meter relay team consisting of John Vovk, Charley Pugsley, Jarrett Proby, and Peter Rice placed 6th with a time of 4:02.
  • The boys 3200-meter relay team consisting of John Vovk, Charley Pugsley, Jarrett Proby, and Peter Rice placed 4th with a time of 9:33.

Boys Golf Update

The BT boys golf team shot their best team score in four years at the Blair Invite on April 18. The team shot a score of 364.

The boys golf team also participated at the Elkhorn invite on April 26. Scores from that day were as follows:

Co-op Sports Update

  • The BT/Concordia/OCA baseball team has a current record of 10-4. The team has won five straight games since April 17. The Mustangs defeated South Sioux City, DC West, Falls City, Mount Michael, and Roncalli. Ryan Ehresman has a .381 average, 16 hits, 10 RBIs, and 10 runs.
  • The Roncalli/BT boys soccer team has a current record of 5-10. The soccer team will compete at Districts starting on May 2 against Elkhorn. The match will be played at Elkhorn South High School at 7:00 pm. Good luck to our boys soccer team!
  • The Concordia/BT girls soccer team is 6-9. The girls team defeated Auburn, Benson, and Lutheran High/Norfolk Catholic since the previous recap. The girls soccer team will play South Sioux City in Districts on Monday, May 1. The match will start at 5:30 pm and be played at Elkhorn. Good luck!

BT Sweeps District Music Contest Again

For the second year in a row, all five of BT's Upper School music ensembles (orchestra, Gold Tones Jazz Combo, Raider Blues Jazz Combo, Upper School Choir, and Pirate Radio) earned unanimous Superior ratings (the highest possible) from their three judge panels at District Music Contest, held Friday, April 21 at Yutan High School. Soloist and quartet entries also earned four Excellent ratings and fourteen Superior ratings from judges. Additional Honorable Mention awards went to Maya Mathews's vocal solo and Rachel Hall's violin solo, and sophomore Laura Liu garnered the Outstanding Performance Award for the top solo in the strings & piano category.

Come see these outstanding ensembles perform and honor the seniors for Music Senior Night at the Upper School Vocal and Instrumental Concert, Tuesday, May 9, 6:30 pm in Swanson Auditorium!
