On Friday, Officer Elkins from Omaha Police Department gave students tips about stranger danger and safety for tonight's trick or treating. Below are the main points of her presentation to follow up with your students:

  • There are good and bad strangers. Police officers, firefighters, and other law enforcement are good strangers.
  • Do not eat any Halloween candy until your parent has approved it.
  • Wear glow sticks or carry flashlights when trick-or-treating so cars can see you.
  • Do not run across streets. Use crosswalks.
